Tailor-made photovoltaic solutions for every project
Founded by a former EDF engineer, JR Énergie Conseil has grown into a major renewable-energy player in Auvergne. It supports households and businesses through their energy transition, from solar panel installation to heat pumps and electric-vehicle charging points.

Beyond its photovoltaic expertise, JR Énergie Conseil is a partner of choice for large-scale projects. Its turnkey approach, professionalism, qualifications and high-yield products allow it to take on varied and ambitious work. The company works with major players such as the Intermarché group, SNCF and Total, and carries out engineering work for energy giants including Cegelec (Vinci group), Engie and SAEM (an Engie subsidiary).
From EDF expertise to solar innovation
Based in Cournon-d'Auvergne, JR Énergie Conseil grew out of the ambition of Jean Renard, its current president and a former EDF engineer. "After 40 years in energy, I wanted to put my knowledge to use and create a company dedicated to energy-supply consulting," he explains. Since its creation in 2016 the company has evolved quickly, moving from consulting to installing photovoltaic panels. Today JR Énergie Conseil employs 40 people and plans to double its workforce within two years. "We are growing fast, but we are determined to keep our trademark and our know-how to satisfy our customers," says Jean Renard.
Its approach rests on four core values: quality, safety, performance and customer satisfaction. "We use no subcontractors. Our teams are trained, qualified and committed to delivering highly technical installations," Jean Renard insists. With more than 1,000 photovoltaic plants in service, including major projects such as the Cournon plant, JR Énergie Conseil delivers solutions suited to every need, from small residential systems to large industrial projects, as its Qualifelec SPV1, SPV2 and SPV3 certifications attest.
"Our design office engineers solar plants from a few kilowatts to several megawatts, connected directly to the grid."
Full support and innovative solutions
JR Énergie Conseil offers turnkey services, from the feasibility study to commissioning. "We take care of everything: administrative procedures, grid connection with Enedis, production optimisation and even support with the electricity resale contract," says Jean Renard.
The company fits photovoltaic panels to all kinds of roofs and structures. Where needed, they are brought up to standard by reinforcing the supporting structure.
Thanks to digital monitoring of its installations, JR Énergie Conseil provides optimal remote supervision, detecting any anomaly instantly and guaranteeing on-site intervention when required.
In parallel, the company has expanded its offering with a complementary asbestos-removal business through its subsidiary JP2R. "We can now provide our customers with a complete solution: rigorous asbestos removal and a brand-new roof before the solar panels go on," explains Jean Renard. This dual expertise avoids unnecessary delays, guarantees optimal service and optimises costs, with no interruption between phases of work.
The Cournon plant, an exemplary project
JR Énergie Conseil's flagship achievement is the photovoltaic plant in Cournon, near Clermont-Ferrand. Led by a design office created specifically for the purpose, the project showcases its expertise with 25,000 m² of solar panels in the first phase alone, quickly doubled to reach 4.5 MWp fed into Enedis's high-voltage grid. The energy produced is offered directly to businesses within a 2 km radius, in line with new regulations. End customers benefit from lower supply costs and taxes while sourcing local, sustainable energy.
